Planning

A planner addresses present needs, anticipates long term needs, and envisions the future. Key elements of planning include flexibility and looking for broader solutions rather than only at the immediate project at hand. Planning is ongoing, never static.

Successful urban planning uses development elements in a cohesive manner, tied to public and private transportation. When tied to public transportation you are contributing to sustainability of efficient use of municipal resources. I am proactive in alternative development approaches including Smart Growth and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), and am knowledgeable about their use throughout the United States.

A long time resident of Jacksonville, Florida, I have played an active role in Jacksonville's downtown planning. I am committed to seeing multi-mode transit and core-focused development being incorporated into Jacksonville's planning, as this is crucial to ensuring Jacksonville and Northeast Florida will be the stellar gateway to Florida in the 21st century.
