In 1983 Tom Perdue purchased the historic American Flag Company building built in 1910 located along what was then Florida Avenue in original Jacksonville.

Perdue first renovated the 5,400 square foot two-story building which originally housed a store downstairs and residences upstairs into his Design Affiliation Architecture offices, which remained until 2001.
When he closed the offices in 2001 he reinvented the former building once again, this time renovating the 90 year-old building into a restaurant complex, the Amsterdam Sky Café. When the restaurant partnership ended in 2007 the building was sold and is now a popular dining and entertainment spot, City Hall Pub, located within the downtown sports complex area.
